Note from the Principals

Calling all future and current Cardinals!

  • Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open! If your child will be 5 by July 31, 2026, and plans to attend kindergarten in the fall, please complete the online registration. 

     

  • Preschool registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open! Children who will be ages 3 or 4 before July 31, 2026, and live within the Crete Public Schools District are eligible to attend. Please complete the online registration to enroll your child. Priority enrollment is given to children who are most at-risk and most in need of early childhood education programs and services. Once children who meet one or more of the enrollment priorities have a secured spot in the early childhood program, enrollment can be open to other children within the community.

     

  • April 1st, the 2026-2027 Annual Student Information Update for all students will be available in your Parent Portal. When you log-in, this allows you to review and update any necessary information for your student(s). This also indicates your permissions for your student(s) during the school year such as field trips, photos, handbook agreements, etc. We kindly ask that all students have their Annual Student Information Update completed by Friday, May 16, 2026.

  • Friday, April 3, 2026

  • Monday, April 6, 2026 and Tuesday, April 7, 2026

2026-2027 Kindergarten Round-up

  • Kindergarten Round-up for incoming Kindergarten families for the 2026-20227 school year will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, or Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Crete Elementary School. Please enter through Door 1.

Kindergarten Music Program

  • Please join us for the Kindergarten Music Program on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the Crete High School auditorium. 

2nd Grade MAP Testing

  • Our 2nd-grade students will take the ELA-MAP test on April 28, April 29, and April 30, and Math-MAP test on May 5, May 6, and May 7. This is an excellent opportunity for our 2nd graders to show what they have learned this year!

CPS App and Rooms Information

  • Many of our teachers are using rooms to communicate information about what is happening in the classroom. We encourage you to download the CPS app and sign up for Rooms. You can find helpful information on our CPS website.

Infinite Campus Emergency Contacts

  • Please make sure your child's emergency contacts are updated on Infinite Campus. The directions can be found on the CPS website safety page. If you need help, contact the Crete Elementary office or the Welcome Center.

Absences:

  • If a student is going to be absent or tardy, please call the office in the morning at 402-826-5822.
