Dear Crete Elementary Families,

It has been an absolute honor to serve as the Interim Principal of Crete Elementary School this year. As I reflect on this year, I am filled with gratitude and joy for the countless memories we have shared together.

Each morning, greeting our staff, students and families during arrival was one of the best parts of my day. The smiles, hugs, high-fives, and cheerful conversations set a positive tone for every day. I truly loved spending time in classrooms, watching our amazing teachers inspire learning and seeing our outstanding students grow and thrive. Watching the incredible academic growth that all of our students made this year has been one of my greatest joys.

Our Friday morning Spirit Rallies quickly became a highlight of my week! Coming together as a school community to recognize teachers for going above and beyond and to celebrate students who demonstrated what it means to be safe, respectful, and responsible was the perfect way to start the day.

I owe a special “Thank You” to Mrs. Carriker for her incredible work this year as our Assistant Principal! She was key in helping our school year be so successful!

To our wonderful second graders heading off to the intermediate school—good luck on your next adventure! You will do amazing things! Always remember: Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal!

Crete Elementary School is a special place! I am so proud to be a part of this incredible school community! I hope you all have a wonderful summer break! Go Cardinals!

• May 12th and 13th - DIBELS Testing for 2nd grade

• May 16th - PK - 2 Field Day - please wear athletic gear

• May 16th - Last day of School - 3:15 p.m. dismissal

Annual Student Information Update Reminder

• The 2025-2026 Annual Student Information Update is available in your Parent Portal. 

  When you log-in, this allows you to review and update any necessary information for your student(s). This also indicates your permissions for your student(s) during the school year such as field trips, photos, handbook agreements, etc. We kindly ask that all students have their Annual Student Information Update completed by Friday, May 16, 2025. 

  This is required for all currently enrolled families to complete each school year. This takes the place of all paper forms that were previously sent home at the beginning of the school year in past years.

CCLC Last Day

• The LAST DAY of CCLC is going to be on Thursday, May 15th. There will be no CCLC on May 16th. Thank you for your continued support of our after-school program! Registration will open on July 1, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year.

CPS App and Rooms Information

• Many of our teachers are using rooms to communicate information about what is happening in the classroom. We encourage you to download the CPS app and sign up for Rooms. You can find helpful information on our CPS website.

Infinite Campus Emergency Contacts

• Please make sure your child's emergency contacts are updated on Infinite Campus. The directions can be found on the CPS website safety page. If you need help, contact the Crete Elementary office or the Welcome Center.

Absences:

• If a student is going to be absent or tardy, please call the office in the morning at 402-826-5822.
