Crete Elementary School

December Newsletter

Note from the Principal

Dear Crete Elementary Families,

It is hard to believe, but we are down to just 16 days left in the first semester, and what an amazing journey it has been! As we wrap up 2024, we have some important assessments ahead.

DIBELS testing (Dymanin Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) will begin on December 3rd. Our 2nd-graders will be tested first, followed by 1st-graders, then Kindergarten.

During the week of December 9th, our 2nd-grade students will take the MAPS assessment in ELA and Math. Please make sure your child is at school unless they are sick or have important appointments.

Please continue to make sure to send students to school in the appropriate clothing for the weather. We will be going outside as much as possible to give the students a much-needed break during the day. If your student needs winter clothing, please contact the office.

Thank you for being a partner in your child's education! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Mrs. Sell, Interim Principal

Attendance Matters

Did you know...?

Consistent attendance builds stronger reading skills!

Research shows that students who miss just 2 days of school a month are less likely to read at grade level by the end of 3rd grade. Make sure your students is in school each day they are not sick.
