Academic & Behavior Information

Academic Intervention

Students at Crete Intermediate will be given intervention or enrichment during W.I.N. time. Reading and math classes have 30 minutes built into the schedule to provide differentiated instruction to students.

What is W.I.N. Time?

W.I.N. is an acronym for WHAT I NEED and is an essential component of our systematic MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) framework that helps us provide targeted support to students based on their needs. W.I.N. time is built into our master schedule and used for students who need intervention or enrichment within a specific grade-level domain. We will use DIBELS, Map, and common formative assessment data to determine the students' needs during W.I.N. time.

Behavior Information

  • Schoolwide expectations are taught and positively reinforced with tickets or Cardinal Compliments.

    • If the students do not meet the expectations, they will receive a reminder.

    • If the student doesn't change the behavior, the teacher will ask them to reset.

      • A Reset includes practicing and processing with an adult.

  • If a student participates in a “major” behavior, the student will be asked to process Out of the Classroom (OCM) with an adult other than the teacher. The student will not be eligible to attend the schoolwide reward if they receive an Out-of-Classroom Movement.

  • When to expect communication from school regarding behavior:

    • When your child receives an Out of Classroom Movement

    • When your child meets the criteria for intervention through our behavior process

      • 6 Resets and/or 2 OCMs in 1 month

  • Schoolwide Rewards:

    • Elementary: Data will be reviewed weekly, and schoolwide rewards will take place on Fridays.

    • Intermediate: Data will be reviewed monthly, and schoolwide rewards will take place in the first week of the month.

Extracurricular Expectations

To ensure the safety and well-being of all our spectators, we want to remind everyone of our policy regarding younger students. All K-5 students must be seated with a parent or guardian throughout the game. This policy helps us provide a secure and enjoyable environment for everyone attending the event. We appreciate your cooperation and support.
