Note from the Principals

Thank you for attending the fall parent-teacher conferences. Parent-teacher conferences benefit student learning by allowing parents and teachers to connect and communicate about topics specific to their students. The staff at Crete Intermediate feels fortunate to have a parent-teacher conference participation rate of over 94%.

As the weather gets colder, please remember to drop your student off at school after 7:30 AM. The doors open, and there is supervision at that time. Students should also have appropriate clothing for the cold weather. We will go outside for recess as much as possible to give the students a much-needed break during the day.

Recently, we have seen an increase in vandalism, primarily taking place in our student restrooms. Please take a few minutes to talk with your child about respecting our school building and the serious consequences associated with vandalism, which can include disciplinary action, loss of privileges, and financial restitution for repairs. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a respectful and welcoming environment for all students.

Cardinal Cares- Health Services

  • Attendance Matters: Staying in School, Staying on Track
    • Regular school attendance is an important part of student success. When children are in school consistently, they are better able to learn new skills, stay connected with peers, and build strong academic foundations.
    • We understand that students may occasionally miss school due to illness or other circumstances. However, even small amounts of missed time can add up and impact learning over time.
  • Why Attendance Matters
    • Helps students stay on track academically
    • Supports social development and peer connections
    • Builds routines that contribute to long-term success
  • Supporting Good Attendance
    • Establish consistent morning and bedtime routines
    • Schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible
    • Communicate with the school if your child will be absent
    • Encourage children to attend school whenever they are able
  • School nurses are here to support families when health concerns arise and can help connect you with resources if needed. Thank you for partnering with us to support student learning and success through strong school attendance.

Attendance Updates:

Did you know...?

Set your student up for success. Research shows that students missing 10 days by December are more likely to fail at least one class. Maximize learning time by encouraging attendance when students are not sick.

Is your student too sick for school? Check out these Info-graphics from Crete Public Schools Health Offices.
